    Distance between mainline tracks?

I read somewhere a long time ago that I should use 1 1/4 inch from center to center and I also use it on wide curves. I like the look of it even though it may be over standard a bit.

Train wreck on my N gauge MAT

Wrecks like this one happened when I was thinking of something else. I had unplugged the loconet cable from the MAT and plugged it into the Georgetown Sub not remembering that I still had a consist of two analog GP 40 locos sitting on the track coupled to a forty car train. When I turned my...

    Dilemma....N vs HO

There is no qustion that so much more is available in HO and if you have the space for the layout you want then that would be my choice. I stick with N gauge as I have collected so much stuff that it doesn't make sense for me to change now. I do however have one of those optimizer magnifiers...

Digitrax Super Chief vs NCE Power Pro

Scott A friend of mine who lives down along the Eastern Shores of Virgina uses NCE on his large layout and loves it. It does everything he expects from a DCC system. The only reason, I chose Digitrax is that is what my local hobby store carried. My advice to you is to see what your hobby...

    Atlas righttrack program

I certainly agree with Clark that learing to lay flextrack was the hardest and that it does take practice but it is all worthwhile because of the accuracy it brings to layout planning. It won't allow more track or turnouts that will actually fit in the space you have.

    Modern Saw Mill

If you ever get the chance to go along the Fraser River in the Abbotsford/Mission area you will see all kinds of sawmills. Most look like they have bee around for a while but there are huge piles of woodchips. You almost have to get in a boat to see them properly. I have never been able to...
