I have finished building 2 sections out of 3 for my framework. So i thought i start to lay some track. I had used the RTS 7.0 track planner to design my plan. It is 7'x12' crossover dogbone layout. I am using mostly all Atlas code 55 flex track.
My first thing i did was to draw my lines for my...
I too was in the same boat, undecided of what scale to go with, N scale or HO scale. I started out thinking of N scale. Started buying N scale equipment. Coming up with different designs. Read more post on the guage of both N scale and HO scale. After a few months, of going back and forth...

I was sorta of curious of this, for my layout. but i did want to know for my layout also.
Because i was playing Microsoft Train simulator, and i could have sworn that 1 yard, the speed limit was like 60. Then a different scenario, same line, different yard, the speed limit was 10. I guess...
The copy of pics i have, they do have a couple of buildings on them. I will try to make the buildings look further back in distance. I think i will be able to something like that in Photoshop. Photoshop is an amazing graphics program.

jeffrey-wimbrel,
I had purchased some Kodak Matte paper (heavy weight) to print my background on. I tried a few samples. The print quality came out okay.
But now to figure out the proportion for n scale.

Did a little bit of work for my layout today. After doing some searching here on the Gauge on soldering. Learning how to tin, using flux, and adding some alligator clips for heat sinks. Every joint i soldered, went very well. No melted ties, and no burnt fingers. Very happy with the results...
I was thinking about trying it this way.
Keep your fill blank or white. Then go to your outline, pick the color that matches close to your color you need. And print that. The outlinr should blend in with the original color of your loco, or rolling stock.
this will be my next experiment.

Not sure if this will work, thats i am asking here.
Instead of hooking your LED's, or Grain-of-wheat bulbs to your AC power pack.
Would i be able to something like this?
A 9v battery hooked up to a on/off switch, then to my LED, or Grain-of -wheat bulb?
If i can, would this be a waste of...
Before choosing this layout, that someone had made for me. After going back and forth between HO, and N scale. N scale won.
I have my Digitrax Zephyr, i have a few loco's, and rolling stock. I still have to paint my loco's and rolling stock in CNW colors.
I will be modeling in the northern...

I have this plan someone designed for me.
I then hit the find short circuits, and it came up with these 4 lightning bolts for short circuits. Is that because of my reverse loops? Do i need to put insulators there to eliminate the short circuits?
I will be running this DCC in n scale. I...
