    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

Well, the first building is supposed to be the station at LaGrande, Oregon. I don't know what it really looks like since I can't find any pictures. I know I took some, and I have them...but where? Oh well, here it is anyway...the way it should have been. :D

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

Here is a different angle of the hump yard at Hinkle. Sorry the pictures are not the greatest, but at least they convey the idea.

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

The supporting framework for the lower level was assembled on top of the particle board while it was still on the floor and then put in place prior to attaching the legs.

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

After the peninsula's shape was positioned, the placement for a connecting track between the levels was drawn and then painted prior to cutting using a cookie cutting method. .

    Canyon Mtn N-gineers Layout

Work has started on one of the peninsulas that will support track on both the upper and lower levels. The location for the peninsula was first measured out and drawn on the floor (outline actually painted on the floor). Then the basic shape was cut from pieces of particle board.

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

I thought it would be interesting to put the roofers to work on a building like this. Any ideas as to what type of industry this could represent?

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

Thanks, Mike. You are very observant. Here is the next building under construction using the Georgian Mansion kits. Which is better...the flat roof or the roof using the multiple kit parts?

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

rc, I don't consider myself to be an expert kitbasher, so I don't think that you will find the work that I have done to change these kits to be too hard. The main thing to do is start somewhere. That was the reason for my thread in the Scratching and Bashing forum...

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

Here is the reverse angle. I'm thinking of using it for a railroad station; my kids want to make it the Milk-bone Manufacturing Company headquarters with a large Milk-bone on the roof...

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

I probably should have posted this in the kitbashing section, but this structure is made from 2 Georgian Mansion kits and a piece of styrene for the roof.

    Christmas Crisis?

I took this picture while making my rounds in my UPS truck. I even stopped and turned around to see if I could help, but it was already too late.

Anyone else care to share what they did to their Georgian Mansion to improve its appearance? Here's the back view....

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

Anybody else buy a bunch of the Georgian Mansions? What a disappointment when I opened it up. The picture on the front is not the same building! (It must be the HO version...maybe?) Anyway, here's what I did to it. Front view....

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

The house with the garbage truck in front of it is the only house that I didn't do much to...yet. I did put some large gold fish and lily pads in the fish pond though. ;)

    N-Scale Houses Upgraded

Some pictures of some of the crumby houses offered in N-scale by Model Power and Bachman that can be impoved greatly just by giving them a decent paint job. First a subdivision of Model Power houses.

    I Refuse to be Intimidated!

Looking back toward the end of the building where most of the boxcars will be spotted...inside.

Another view...looking down the track. That's the building with the skylights.

    I Refuse to be Intimidated!

Here is another angle...a little farther back. It sure looks better on the layout than on the orange countertop!:D

    I Refuse to be Intimidated!

I'm not finished with the building yet, but I had to see how it would fit into the place the I envisioned.... I think it is going to work.

    I Refuse to be Intimidated!

I took two of the skylight sections and placed them over each end of the building, and then cut a two-windowed portion from a third section to get the necessary length. The other side of the building roof was made by splicing together three pieces from the rest of my styrene sheet. With...
