A few words about the original:

The owl-like kakapo (formerly the owl parrot; lat. Strigops habroptila) is one of the rarest parrots in the world, surviving on several islands of New Zealand. It is a 60-centimeter-tall parrot that resembles an owl with its face and, like an owl, is also characterized by nocturnal activity. Weighing 1.5 to 3 kg, it is the heaviest of all parrots and the only flightless parrot. It is flightless but can glide on slopes.
Thousands of owl-like kakapos once inhabited New Zealand. When the Maori arrived with dogs and 800 years later, white people brought other predators, the number of kakapos began to decline rapidly. In 1976, only 18 living males remained. The living birds were moved to islands without predators and under the supervision of conservationists. The last 51 individuals were found on Stewart Island. In 2005, there were 85 individuals, the most in the last 25 years. Today, kakapos breed on Codfish Island; their number exceeded one hundred individuals in March 2009 (2019 = 116 individuals) (source wikipedia)

My modifications:

This is another model that I've been working on for a long time, so I'm glad I finally finished it... The model was built more or less without any modifications, I just used bark and branches for the base... a few photos:

Thanks :)

There are 6 animals in this series of animals, so I can describe the next animal in more detail, even if it's just a simple gluing... I like the snow leopard, so that could be the next one. ;)
Looking forward to seeing your process master model builder!:)

Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia)

A few words about the original:

The snow leopard, also called the mountain snow leopard, is a feline with long, wavy fur. It prefers mountainous areas and mountainous steppes, rocky scrub plains and open coniferous forests at altitudes up to 5,000 m above sea level. It has a similar wide range of food as the spotted leopard. It can also take down a yak or a camel, but mostly hunts smaller species - sheep, goats, marmots, hares and birds. It has 4-5 cubs in one litter. The mountain snow leopard is persecuted for its fur and for attacks on livestock. It is included in the list of endangered species.

My modifications:

I've been looking forward to this leopard model for a long time, I finally got around to gluing it together. I have the parts cut out and retouched. I glued the torso and front legs. So far it's sticking together pretty well, just don't rush it and shape the parts well... a few photos:
