Athearn sd-9 tune up

Does anyone know were I might find info on cleaning and tune up on my SD-9. It has been stored (in box) for over a year and now has a hard time starting without a nudge, some sparking at wheels.

Boy, I hate to give advice as I had the same problem; stored in a box for over a year and won't start without a nudge. But the best part is the sparking at the wheels; mine does that too. Scroll down below your thread and read my SPARKS ARE FLYING. LOL

Hi tiemac and welcome to the gauge. It sounds like the wheels may just be dirty. Try cleaning them good with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol first. Could also be the track, clean it too. Fred
