    The Building of a (Trek)Starfleet

Thanks for the link, I'll definitely use it on my next build of this ship! I guess I interpreted the picture differently, but I can see what you're saying. :)

    The Building of a (Trek)Starfleet

Well, like I said, it was one of my first builds & I originally wasn't going to post pics of it.I did wonder about that though. I used that same pic for reference & it was the only one I could find when I was building it. The picture seemed a little vague to me on where exactly to position the...

    The Building of a (Trek)Starfleet

Greetings all! I've decided to start a thread of my various Star Trek builds, starting with the Phoenix, designed by Skip. I think every Star Trek story should start with Zefram Cochrane's Phoenix, the first prototype warp ship. This particular model was one of my first builds, about 2 years...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

After some helpful suggestions from Zathros, I have renamed the title of this thread to " The Building of the Galactic Fleet". I suppose my former title was rather shortsighted. ;)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I like that suggestion for the thread title, I think I shall use it! :) & Thank you for the compliment! :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks for the compliment! :) As for the Excelsior, my progress on her has been slow. I may not post any more pics of that particular build, my printer wasn't working great when I printed out that model & I've had some frustrations with it. However, I have been seriously considering starting a...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Here is a teaser "Glamour shot" of the almost finished model, with another space background I've been experimenting with. More to come soon! :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I thank you for that! :) Unfortunately, my chubby, arthritic fingers sometimes make it extremely difficult to work on the smaller parts.:headbange: I have however received some very good advice from my fellow Zealots on how best to use straight pins, nails & tweezers as well as a great deal of...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thank you Rhaven Blaack! I haven't been able to work on her much in the past few weeks, just nibbling here & there where I can. The bow section won't be as presentable as I would prefer, but I'm very happy with the way the mid & back half turned out. :)

    BSG Defender

I can't wait to see this model finished! No hurry! No hurry! & then I am eagerly anticipating what "Greebling Goodness" you will bring us for your next model build. No pressure, No pressure.;) :fireguy::)Claphands

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I was having some "dimpling" issues in the bow section, & having difficulty getting the seams to line up right for me. So, I started making my own "panels" to cover the bow mid-seam. The pic doesn't really do it justice though. It looked much worse before.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Just a few more progress pics. First, some sensors, or guns, I'm not sure which. Whatever you wish them to be I suppose.:) Anyway, they were so small, I had to print them on thin copy paper. Then, I glued & rolled them with a straight pin. The pic shows the approximate positioning. How to roll...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Then the nose is glued to the head. That is as far as I've gotten this evening. Will post more progress pics soon. :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Part 7, wrapped in part 9, then faced with part 10. Then wrapped with part 8 to complete the nose. For the head, part 11a is formed into a cone, part 13 into a tube, then 11a is glued into part 13.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I'm almost finished with the Geminon Traveler, I am currently very patiently working with the smaller parts to finish it, & will post some pics soon. In the meantime, I have started working on Revell-Fan's Colonial Movers ship. Thought I'd add some color to the fleet.I opted for the smaller...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks Zathros! Yeah, the thought had crossed my mind that the name of this thread would at some point sound a bit silly. When I first started it, I guess I was drawing a blank for an original thread name, thus Beginnings. I am still in the beginning phases of the fleet, only having built 5...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Hey everyone, I haven't had any progress on the Geminon Traveler in the past few days, though I am trying to finish it this week. Hope to post the finished pics soon. I may not be posting much in the next few weeks. I am in the process of a major house remodel & will be moving, hopefully within...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I agree, I too love the " shock factor" when I tell people "Yes, it is paper." :) & then the questions ensue & then I warm to my subject. :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Here are a few more pics with all 3 engines now mounted. It's getting really close to being finished. I might add a few more greebles toward the front. I also need to assemble & mount the communications array, as well as 6 small thruster cones, 2 for each engine. I also have a puckering issue...
