It used to be you could get a lot of the materials to do this kind of fabrication at Hobby Shops, it seems that all of them (in this state, CT) just do R/C and a couple of models. They have no raw materials for ma \king anything. The forks look excellent! The tanks foundation is right on. :)

If you know how to make wheels using conical semi circles strips, you an paint them with Liquid Electrical Tape, by adding very fine pieces of paper, imitate wheel treads, the tires end up looking real. ;)

Your models remind me of some that I saw when I worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Some where made of nuts and pipe pieces, all metal, and others where made of whatever they could get. These were often given to their young ones at home, or bartered and used as currency. Prison life...

I'd suggest trying some U.V Activated adhesives. You user very little, you can build it up, but on initial use, the "Glue" is applied to the piece, enough so you touch the mating piece. You hold them together and hit them with the U.V Light on the other end f the tube (it comes with the light)...

Get a round file, to get the cross members ti fit the frame rails tight, less adhesive is needed. . Just out of curiosity, are you using 2 part epoxy or glue" Looking good! :)
