    JSC 1:400 HMS Dragon Build

Thanks for the tip. The waviness doesn't usually bother me as it usually gets worked out as the superstructure gets built up and straightens it out in all but the worst cases. I've added frames myself in the past where it needed it. -Ski

    JSC 1:400 Cruiser Askold Build

Thanks guys! Well, I'm Done!! I finished the ship today with my usual simplified rigging, even though this is still pretty detailed for yours trully. After all of the ships I built, I finally found out the simple secret to rigging: half-hitches! I wish I learned this sooner.... Silly...

    JSC 1:400 Cruiser Askold Build

Thanks for the complement. This ship is REALLY small, almost as small as a Fletcher Class Destroyer. So, with all of the details, it is really a challenge. You can see how small it is here with the recently completed HMS Norfolk.... It amazes me just how far Cruiser design advanced in 37...

    JSC 1:400 Cruiser Askold Build

I worked on the masts and some of the ship's boats today. The powered boats are the most detailed I have seen in 1:400..... -Ski

    JSC 1:400 Cruiser Askold Build

Starting to get to the end of the build. It's turning out pretty well. I used strip styrene for the boat rack and added the torpedo booms to the ship (not required, but look cool). Once again, these computer designed models are quite a bit more challenging than the earlier hand-drawn...

    JSC 1:400 Cruiser Askold Build

More work on the ship. With the computer designed ships, you have to be really on the mark when cutting the pieces out. I will be using strip styrene on the torpedo booms. Their not required for the model, but they add a lot to it. -Ski

    JSC 1:400 Cruiser Askold Build

Another ship on the blocks. This time it is the 2nd edition Askold. The deck turned out pretty wavy, but I hope to straighten it out as the superstructure gets built up. This one will be as tough as the HMS Hood due to the complex framing that covers the lifeboats. It should be fun, though...

    Digital Navy - USS Arizona - 1/100

There definately should be a strip that fills in that area, at least that's what the Digital Navy's one shows.... You should have no problem fabricating one if you still can't find it.... -Ski
