Did I get the right soldering iron?

Also, it does depend on the gauge your using. I use a 25w antex for soldering to my n-gauge track and it works fine, and i've used it one 00 quote happyly, but i imagen it would just make a mess of O-gauge! also, it not stupid to have more than one soldering iron, i have three, - an 80w...

When your trains get a little kinky

If, yeah, but your'll only get gaps upto the size of what you remove, obviusly, so it wont be too bad. - also, if you need to, you might have to chop a lenght if rail in half, so that there are to expention/comtraction joints sharing the diffrence.

Rolling stock storage - what do you do?

Yeah, most of the layout hinges up, with yard at the back saying flat, proteced by the rest of the layout, so its not in direct light, and semi shealded from dust, and we dont have a cat. So there not a great deal of threat its just that it it does get left out for along time, 8mouths at time...

    wiring an electrofrog double slip?

ok, thanks, i know what you mean about not soldering to it, but there are aready 4 wires that have being put on duing maufacturing, on the each frog, and one to each side oof the centre of the unit - as you say, i think if you feed power from "all four corners", the this is fully power...

so how diffrent are the new bachmann to the graham farish's that i bought back in 1997 - and are the dapol any good, becuase they have bit of a tarnished reputaion dont they? - and if i do buy a second hand Grahamfarish, how can i tell how old it is, and how much should i look to pay for...

Rolling stock storage - what do you do?

jetrock, the perspex (plexiglass) sidding might be a problem if i got a derailment, but if its just stright track, and im Only using it as storage - ie not shunting into it all the time, just out and back in once a day. - but, thinking about it, i guess there not reason why it would have to...

    Engine stopping.

yeah, sounds very much like the thermo-cut-out on your transformer is triping out (and then back ina few seconds after the load is removed) - it could be to motor is drawing more as it ages and becomes demagnesied - or the tranformers cut out may be geting more sensotive If you can...
