Mid week the 4th; Going It Alone

I do my modeling alone. My son is older now and not as interested in trains and cars as he once was. Also did the club thing, to much hassle not able to go as much as I would like, so for now I work alone.

    Your Local Hobby Shop

I absolutely hate buying on line or ebay. I prefer to buy at my LHS or trainshows or swapmeets. I like to see what I am buying and know I am getting what I am paying for. Plus the friendly people at the store and conversations with other customers and rail nuts make it worth while. In major...

    Other hobbies

Other than model railroading, I like to railfan, build model cars/airplanes, collect 1:18 diecast cars primarly from the 1930's to 1960's. Thats all time and finances will allow.

Besides Berea, I like to go to downtown Cleveland by the Amtrak station, there is a pedestrian bridge over the NS lines which allows good photo ops. The two main lines are the LakeFront Line going to Buffalo, and the other is the line going through Alliance Ohio. Definately check out Berea...

The yard you see from 480 is called Rockport, and the yard in Avon Lake (Ford Plant) is called Fairlane. If you have time while here, check out Berea tower which is about 2-3 miles south of Rockport (not far from the airport) off of Rt. 237. NS and CSX both come by the tower on opposite sides...
