A river runs under ,,over er have a look

Llangollen Canal viaduct - 120ft up and barely wider than the barge!!! you cant see it but off to the right of the canal is a railway bridge, which makes this a very dramatic border crossing between Wales and England. Couldnt find a good shot showing the river below but you can just about see...

well i can get hold of proper architects structural materials so i can build so very good looking overhead - i would suggest using N gauge track in HO and fairly thick wire in N gauge.

lol, i would if i could remeber what the bridge is called, its on one of the Major canals linking the northern industrail towns to a mining area further north. Will see if i can find out. Oh and we have also had a canal barge lift over here since 18 something!

actually, theres been a much more impressive bridge like that in the UK for much longer, carrying a canal across a valley, river, road AND rail line

lol, i read up a lot on railroad history and both my lines have taken various "didnt happen" events and made them happen. I also happen to really dislike UP so i made it die when the two roads met and the CP live instead. Hence no UP on my layout except as the Union Pacific Mining Company!

    Setting the Scene

ive got mostly green trees - four packs of them - from WS, only got the one pack of fall colours so going to be mixing them in, mostly along the roadsides. Havent got any bare trees yet despite my layout being set in late autumn. Does anyone make a halfway decent white boarded church?

oooh GG1s (drool) shame i cant justify a GG1, R1 or P5am on a traction line. Already got a GG1 to sit in the station on the head of a connecting train though!

    Setting the Scene

already got one being built as a project for a side road that the interurbans dont go down - dont think they would have had a covered bridge with an interurban track through it, would they?

    Bachmann DEAL!!...Maitence question.

lol, its a joke name given to them - i think they tend to look like a destrction guide for the locomotives! both mine are fairly noisy, but i havent given them much running in yet. Will take some piccys of them when i get home (visiting my dad this weekend so not able to get at my locos or the...

    The Pennsy

oh im set well before the PRR/NYC merger (which BTW never happened in my history, just as UP doesnt exist except as a shortline in NH!), but ive assumed the PRR was able to take over the NYNH&H in an attempt to block Central Pacific out of New England and to form a route to meet the Canadian...

    Setting the Scene

ive got some of the woodland scenics tree kits (one of which contains bright red and orange foliage colours) would these do for sugar maples? Also, my "towns" are fairly substantial so i dont know if a wooden church is suitable (might be for one of the minor towns). I havent got any plans...

    Setting the Scene

oh ive got a few good images but i want like a signature building of tree or something that says New hampshire as soon as you look at it! Being based in the UK im not really sure whats typical of New Hampshire and whats not!

    Setting the Scene

right, having decided where my line is based and what time of year it is i want to know;- what sort of things would instantly tell someone looking at my layout that it was fall in New Hampshire?

    The Pennsy

ta, bit of modellers liscence needed then - the PRR is going to build through Conneticut and Massachusets (SP??) all the way to Portsmouth (NH)

    The Pennsy

Right, now as my interurban`s "parent" is supposed to be the mighty PRR i would like to know just how far towards Maine or the California region did the PRR extend as these are the two possible locations i am looking at for basing my line in and i want to know before i start on any senic...

    Bachmann DEAL!!...Maitence question.

hum, thats more likely actually, would be about siutable size to not require modification to the basic chassis, will look up the part numbers on the destruction sheet i have for my UP switcher (yes i have got one myself along with one with a totally different tender that looks like a custom jobby)

    Bachmann DEAL!!...Maitence question.

as far as i know that model has never actually been a factory model from bachmann, ypuve probably got a bashed one made using the leading truck from the older bachmann K4s Pacific order them directly from bachmann as spare parts, i can give you specific part numbers for them if you want
