JSC 1:400 HMS Norfolk and The Road To Recovery

Nice job on your model. The Norfolk is a very nice looking subject with her raked funnels.

    Digital Navy - USS Arizona - 1/100

eibwarrior: You are doing great! Your deck looks very good. It is amazing that you have been able to build such a large model by magnifying the original model.

    Gun Turret HIJMS YAMATO 1:100

Very nice work! Highly creative and original.

    Tsesarevich

Barry: Thanks for your comments. I agree that it is possible to build card models that are on the par of plastic & resin. The 1/200 & 1/250 scale paper ships are finer than 1/350 plastic models in my opinion. (I work in a much smaller scale & cannot/dare not match that level of detail for...

    Tsesarevich

The trick seems to be to trick the system. ???? Also a photo of the model during construction at the old shipyard. The model took me 8 months to complete due to inertia. Golden Bear's French predreadnought posts prompted/inspired me to finally finish the model.

    Tsesarevich

Russian battleship Tsesarevich model photos I wanted to post a few additional pictures. I hope this works. The process seems different.

    Battleship Potemkin

Nibel: Sorry about the delay. I have had multiple computer/Internet problems. I had to take one of my computers in for repair. (I have 3 computers, but each has something wrong with it until now.) Here are additional photos.

    FlyModel K-141 Kursk

Looks like this is not a model for the weak at heart. Looks like a very challenging build. Good work!

    Tsesarevich

Thanks, guys. RMKS2000: The ship is a scratch built model, built entirely from paper, cardboard, & white glue. Drawings used came off the Internet.

    Tsesarevich

My last build was the Tsarist battleship Tsesarevich. I took it to our local IPMS meeting where our club photographer took some nice shots of it. It is my first attempt at using a white color scheme. I was worried that it would get smeared, but somehow I avoided that pitfall. I actually...

    Battleship Potemkin

Thanks Renaud, Dansls1, nibel, & Barry. Renaud, I wish I had your references before I built the model. Those are excellent drawings. This is the kind of revelation that has caused me to slow down considerably. There is so much information out there that I don't know about. I will try to...

    Battleship Potemkin

Battleship Potemkin is #7 in a series of Tsarist battleships that I have been working on over a long period of time. It was originally named Kniaz Potemkin Tavricheskey but was renamed Panteleimon &Boretz za svobodou. In protest to mismanagement of the navy her crew mutinied in June 1905...

    Tsarist battleship Petropavlovsk

Thanks all for your encouraging words. You are very kind. One further picture is enclosed. In answer to your questions, Cgutzmer: It took me a month to build the model. That is fast for me as I normally work at a desultory pace. Moreover, as I use white glue, I do have to take...

    Tsarist battleship Petropavlovsk

Petropavlovsk was the first Russian battleship that compared favorably with contemporary European designs. She was the flagship of the Russian First Pacific Squadron during the Russo-Japanese War. Tragically, she struck a mine while maneuvering to engage the Japanese fleet, resulting in her...

    Uss Porter 1/200

jkrenzer: Very interesting/durable construction technique. In all likelihood, it provides a solid base for a clean hull. You work fast! How do you cut/shape the balsa? BTW: Are you the modeler who has posted paper models on the Model Warships website? Those are very fine looking models.

    HMS Repulse From GreMir

Padre: Great choice of kits. The completed models I've seen so far have been impressive. Your hull is coming along great!

    Paper C.S.S. Palmetto State ironclad

Wow! Construction is proceeding quickly. I have always thought the US Civil War subjects are under represented in modeling. They are very interesting historical subjects. Good luck on your build!

    1:400 USN Destroyers!

Although 1/400 sounds pretty big for a bb, it makes for a small destroyer. Very nice work. Very attractive with the camouflage scheme.
