I have tried to make proper stud link anchor chain several times without any sucess. You can buy it pretty cheap online from various craft places. ie. 6mm Decorative Anchor chain:Bronze/SP/GP/Pink Product :: Craft-box.com

When I build it it plan to paint it with Testors model master 1949 flat black spray paint (FS37038). A nice light coat with any missed spots providing the shading/texture. Maybe two coats on the top half as it would logically be the easiest to maintain. Have to wait and see. That and a bit of...

Pepakura should be able to unfold it. You will probably have to tweak it, unless the designer was very precise creating the Sketchup models. Then you can scale it up to life size. That will probably require breaking down some of the parts into smaller pieces. There are paper (freebee) Starwars...
