The Building of the Galactic Fleet

The forward engine section connects to the rear section with the smaller collar piece. There is not much to glue to, I just ran a thin bead of glue, let it dry, then added another to reinforce it.

Thanks for the suggestion Z! I hadn't even thought of using strands of fiber optics. I love that idea & will pursue it. :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I also assembled the forward section of the port side engine. I thought I'd post a few pics of how they are assembled. All 3 engines, upper, left & right are exactly alike. I try to cut off the tabs & make my own where I can, so the joints are tighter & cleaner. But I also try to determine...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

This evening I mounted the starboard engine mount On the Geminon Traveler. I don't know if I got the angle right. They are both slightly angled down. I think it will be fine for my purposes though. It's getting close to being finished now, finally!

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Here are a few pics of the same painted bunch of cotton balls with an exploding Tie Interceptor, this time with an LED light shining in the core of the "explosion". I have seen some pics of others model dioramas using electric "tea candles" for the core of their explosions. I am seriously...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

I had parts from a mini- Tie Interceptor that got stepped on at some point, so I cut it up & glued it into the cotton to simulate an exploding ship. I'm just experimenting right now, playing around with ideas, but I would love some feedback if anybody has any other ideas or suggestions. I'll...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

This evening, I've been experimenting with making explosions to go with Cylon Raider & Colonial Viper skirmish dioramas. & maybe later, some serious ship to ship battles. I glued together some cotton balls, puffed them out some, then lightly hit them with some yellow, red & black paint. I'm...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks Zathros,Rhaven Blaack & Skyseeker , I really appreciate the support!:) I have the Original series Cylon Basestar printed & ready to assemble, but I was kind of thinking of building Revell-Fan's Colonial Mover's ship next. I would like to add some color to the fleet, so far it looks so...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Does anyone know of any paper ship models that have been designed from the Farscape TV series? Particularly Moya, the living ship? I haven't found any in my searches so far, but that would be an awesome ship to see designed & to be able to build it. Just wondering. :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks Rhaven Blaack, I deeply appreciate the compliment. :) I've been kind of figuring this one out as I go. It's mostly straightforward, but there are a few details I've scratched my head over. I do hope my build pics can help others out, & I hope I'm getting it right. I've made a lot of...

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Also mounted the upper engine. I'm going to save the tiny thrusters that attach to the rear of the engines for the very last of the build, for all 3 engines. In the background is my previous attempt at the Geminon Traveler, now "decommissioned" for greebling parts.

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Thanks Skyseeker, I've been using different color Sharpie markers to color the edges of my joints & greebles. So far, it's worked pretty good for most of my builds. :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Well....I don't know about that my friend, but thanks! I really appreciate that. :) I am just a lowly Padawan learner, lots of trial & error, experimenting, & good advice & tips from my fellow zealot friends. ;)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

In my defense, I didn't see that busted joint till after I'd already posted the pic. It is much smaller in real life. ;) Thanks for the advice though. :) Also, I don't know what I tapped, to mess up my response to your last message. After I typed it, I wondered where the message went. I was...

    BSG Defender

I love it! That model is looking awesome!:Bravo: I only hope my own build of the Defender will look half as good as yours when I get to building it. Your patience really shows in the excellent quality of work. Thanks for the new pics! :)

The Building of the Galactic Fleet

Haven't done much on the Geminon Traveler in the past few days, but did get these 3 additions on the rear of the ship. Going to work on the left & right engines & mounts next.
