I noticed that too. I just thought that it was a little silly. Here is a person with the intelligence to design a powered plane using a pager motor but doesn't know which way the canopy goes. Most likely the author was probably in a rush to get the article out and just got a little sloppy.

Fantastic job! Quick question - how did you fit the blue foam with all of the triangular reinforcements to the bulkheads? Did you simply file a slot in the foam?
