A very worn and beaten copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar too. Its been through two little boys and is currently being heavily used by a third... The photos seem to reveal all the horrible flaws in my folds and edges...it didn't seem to look so bad to me until I saw those closeup pictures. I...

Oh and these things seen in the background above are the main thruster arm supports. There will be 4 of 'em. They hold the main engines and are covered by lots of top and side plates. In the studio model, these were made of brass plating and lots and lots of tubes. I had to go for strength here...

I spent some time building one of the landing gear legs. Whew. That was maybe one of the hardest things I've ever built in paper, and I've built some tough models...even built a couple of naval ships. For some reason paper ship models seem to have some of the finickiest teeny bits in them, and...

Soaring: no I haven't given up. Not by a long shot. I'm into this thing up to my neck. I just gave up trying to make the landing gear have some shock absorption or cushion effect. That's all. More photos soon

Hey Gearz, I just took a closer look at that piping texture in post #52...its excellent. Did you make that from scratch yourself? Nice work! If not, where'd you find it. I need some good pipe work details to slap onto my shuttle, and am dreading doing it all from scratch.

Thanks again. The colours you see are pretty close to being right. It is a browney-greeney colour, and not grey. More dirty rust than anything. So far I like it overall, but may change it yet. I'm going to wait and see how I like the completed model before I make final texture tweaks. This...
