Had a go at the entrance part ... not 100% happy with it but cannot put my finger on it yet.

Great pics! I did not know about these. Only the tree bark canoe of the native Americans. I might also do some orc boats later but I was thinking more in the direction of KonTiki style...

It would be the best compliment one could get! So today I can show you my options for the leather so far: with and without dirt, lighter and darker, saturated and desaturated and well colors, like ... red. I guess green would also work. So that's 24 variations with just the leather. I am...

    Orc village

You know that I am putting a lot of effort into my geometry and textures so that people don't have to do all that :animated: But sure, advanced users can improve that and maybe more, like glue thin strings onto the wooden poles as ropes replacement etc. Anyway today I can show you what I think...

Thanks! They are all based on the same architecture archetypes, that's why I'd say :iagree:

For the tusken raiders I want to make a cloth version of the texture... at least that is how I remember them. Oh dear, do I have to watch the movies again? :-)

A quick update with the new leather. I have added more/smaller leather hides (the ones before were just too large to make sense) and also some stitches and patches where the leather was damaged. Only the dirt texture is missing to make it look at worn and used and perfect :-) I was asked about...

So we need rope bridges then :) I do hope with different texture skins this will double as all sorts of things!

Thanks guys! I always wanted to push my texturing abilities and this project is helping me do it. Lots of new materials to work on :-) When I was taking a break working on the textures, I was playing around with the shape of an orc tower the last days. How do you like this?

So I was able to fix my color mismatch problem and from then on the development of my leather texture has been much smoother :) The final result (so far) on the medium hut looks like this. I have more pics (with spikes! and also for the small hut) on my site...

working on the textures now and struggling for the first time with color calibration. the first try turned out way to dark after printing. have to do a couple of tests what is going on. but the leather textures looks very leathery ... on the screen at least :-)

Textures will take a little longer but here is the first look at whitebuild prototypes! This is the basic shape of the orc house. Maybe doesn't look like much for now but once the textures (and variations of textures) are added it should look great. See some more prototypes on my site. I have...

    Orc village

Hi guys, I am in the process of working on a new paper model set: The Orc Village! Here is a little concept art ... I have also written a little post on how I started the design process on my site if you are interested (http://www.papierschnitzel.com/orc-village-sketches/). This helped me...

    B5 - Project Centauri Vorchan

My solution depends on the format you use. I use layered PDF files. I have layers for cut files, fold lines etc which you can all switch on or off as wanted. That way you can print (or just watch on screen) a white version with cut and fold lines and then print the textured version without.

WoW, this looks like a big fat challenging model! Good luck with it. From what I have seen so far I am pretty sure it will be a success :-)

Star Wars - Tatooine moisture vaporator

I think you can add a little more realism with doubling/raising the ornaments on it. Also on the originals you see some more greebly stuff esp on the bottom tube. You can go nuts :-) Anyway, I finished the dirty build. ... and made a quick diorama with Princess Leia being attacked by a Tusken...
