I try to avoid connection stripes whenever possible. I form the elements for so long until they take the shape they should take after gluing - then I apply glue and simply place the element precisely in position. Because it is formed beforehand and tested for fitting, there's no gaping holes...

Amazing - there are for example 25 versions of Iliushin IL-2 (two Polish), plus two white versions for colouring. Just wow. Only one thing I can't find is the scale of the model...
