    My first model UHU02 Tie

Maybe. My experience from paper model convention is that lot of great detiled models siting next to each other is not as striking visualy as one great detailed model in the room. But it is just me. :sticktongue::bulgeeye:

    My first model UHU02 Tie

Uhu did it according to original model miniature. Full scale cockpit set has it as you did it. So both configuration can be seen in a movie :)

Marcel, YOU SOLVED ITt, great idea - the window can be rotated by pilot (or automaticly). thumbsup :) That is why it was rotated diferently in movie. And if you rotate it realy fast the parts of the frame of the window will disapear to the eye so almost no obstacles in view from cockpit...

Gokstad viking ship / WAK + scratch / upscaled to 1:48

Hi friends finaly cutting some paper. This time I do not use waterbased glue for the frame and laminating. I will use it later on planking. Because the keel and stems have variable thicknes I did inner structure by layering the paper. then I covered it by skin layer: I scribed the edge...

Gokstad viking ship / WAK + scratch / upscaled to 1:48

Little progress with modeling. Some historian said to me it is possible that rowers sat on deck beams, not on the chests, so I did some tests to see in what position rows would be to the rowers. It looks like realistic option. All functional replicas I know of use chests for rowers to sit on, so...

Gokstad viking ship / WAK + scratch / upscaled to 1:48

Thank you. So painting technique seems to be fine, but I am still thinking about the colour of the paint. I am using Roskilde museum replicas as color reference. All their ships have this dark colour, but I recently find out that they use modern chemical - Hempel's Classic, which has copper...

Thank you boys. I would like to represent some wear and tear but shouldn´t it be more uniform and not so rought, for the paint of the ship?

Gokstad viking ship / WAK + scratch / upscaled to 1:48

Thank you Gandolf50. It is one of the plans I am using. It is from Nicolaysen, archeologist who dug up the ship. I have all his plans and drawings of the ship. This plan is arecheological piece - it is from year 1882. I would like to know how these plans were made, how the ship was measured...
