    IJN Fuso from Halinski

Oh Mommy... So its a face off, Digital Navy's 1930s version or Halinski's 1940s? I bet I can guess which one has most pieces, can you? D

    I-19 Otsu Gata (Halinski) 1:200

Well the RMS Titanic and IJNS Mitsuki arrived today. I should do a review. That's a great service. A darn shame. D

Building of huge hull - Yamato 1:200

Woow! that's really nice and I thought I built a good hull. Is the white card attached to edge of the grey formers? that would be really impressive... D

    I-19 Otsu Gata (Halinski) 1:200

Lots of detail! I nabbed a Mega Graphic's Titanic, that has below the water line bits in 1:400 and an Answer IJNS Mutsuki @ 1:200. Titanic looks a bit flimsy. No Idea what either are really like, but, as you say an impulse buy on a wounded post Christmas credit card! Pity about the vendor. D

    Shipyard's 1:96 HMS ALERT

Bluenoser, Oh, praise indeed. Back to cannon. Rigging the guns will be good practice for the future rigging and now you can see what the CASCABLE is for. It alleviates the need to fish the cannon out of the sea on on opposite side of the boat every time it is fired. On slightly later...

    SPEED BUILD Class 20 Diesel

Thanks guys but it is flawed by haste. This is a nice little kit, I presume train folks would motorise it... D

    SPEED BUILD Class 20 Diesel

Well I managed it. In general it went together very easily. I deffinately rushed a bit too much and have ended up with a few rough areas. Down to me rather than Ray's design. I think the doors which are recessed and the cab could be done a lot better. For a start I would print the doors...

    SPEED BUILD Class 20 Diesel

Today rather than write a book review and do a job application I propose to see if I can build Ray Morris' British Rail Class 20 Type 1 Diesel Locomotive IN A DAY . I visited the National Railway Museum in York on New Years Day, both work and fun! I am a lucky man! I know little of railways...

    Shipyard's 1:96 HMS ALERT

Just a quick up date. There is no denying Shipyard kits are demanding, exacting and very rewarding. However, the taft rail on the stern was fun and surprisingly easy. D

    Shipyard's 1:96 HMS ALERT

Trying to stick with card as the primary material is a really dumb thing to do. i am sure some one will make an injection moulded ships block in a variety of sizes. Just cut it of the sprue paint it and use it. No no no, that's way too easy. Better idea, lets sandwich together a couple of...

    Digital Navy - USS Arizona - 1/100

Gosh they are a fine looking gun barrel (!) but looks like a pig to do in a single piece of card. My recent experience with the "itsy bitsy" cannon on HMS Alert has shown me that using really thin paper to make a solid barrel is one way. You can create the swell by wrapping the muzzle...

    Shipyard's 1:96 HMS ALERT

Little Bits... Well I have made some progress even though Christmas has eaten away at my time and resources. Shipyard do make you think. I would say that the diagrams are only just up to the job of building the windlass and other small subassemblies, but, I may be particularly thick this...

    Shipyard's 1:96 HMS ALERT

Well I put a bit of work in and thought it was time to pick up the pace. I ended up spending loads more time than I had intended to on these little chaps. I might paint them bronze yet. I just don't know if Alert had iron or bronze guns, I suppose the 1770s is far enough in to the...

    Scratch 1:400 CV-6 USS Enterprise

I am as they say Gob-smacked! Inspirational build! How many stations do you take measurements from - I mean the bow flair looks pretty complex to plot? D

Excellent! We used to see these little monkeys using the public highway round here (well the Scimitar variant). Though small in size they were very very noisy! D
