    Interesting Happenings

A few weeks ago we had a topic about a particular internet dealer who was judged to provide lousy service. Who was in fact downright deceitful in their business dealings. I pointed out that I had posted to a topic on this dealer on another forum and was not only slammed by an administrator but...

Why we see so many coal trains

Since when did this wonderful forum switch from trains to a platform to environmental nut jobs and presidential critics? What say we keep this sane and focused of the subject at hand. If you want propaganda and lies read the mainstream press, Doc

    A Small Challenger Problem

So far I am overwhelmed by the quality of the Challenger. I do however have one small problem that is bugging me. First, I can only program it on the main and second, I cannot get the bell rate to change from the slowest speed and cannot change the sound to see what the other bells are like? I...

    www.internettrains.com bad experiences!!!

I was going to post the thread link, but it seems that it has conveniently disappeared from the offending forum. I guess defending a forum sponsor against dis-satisfied customers recounting unhappy experiences needs to be kept from the light of day so the sponsor will keep feeding the kitty...

    New (abandoned) Warehouse

Barraf, I can take no credit for the fence. This is a Gold Medal product. Each package contains 240 scale feet of brass chain link fence. Packages come with or without gates which you can open. Barbed wire on the top that is bent out. I sprayed the pieces with Scalecoat II grime. luckily I had...

    www.internettrains.com bad experiences!!!

Gang, There is another difficulty with some on-line merchants. My experience is with another forum. There members were relating almost the same issues with Internet Trains, poor response, not filling orders in a timely manner, not replying to inquires, stating items shipped when they were not...

    New (abandoned) Warehouse

Berraf, To make the warehouse/building in use would necessitate more space, people, vehicles, and other sundry items. By abandoning the property the entire scenic arrangement is different. The fence closed, the lot filled with forgotten items, and I guess mainly this is the look of so many older...

    www.internettrains.com bad experiences!!!

I had like experiences. I made two orders and had horrid shipping. The third order went on for over a month and when I finally reached someone was told it was back ordered. I asked why I wasn't notified. No response, just "it's back ordered." I said cancel the order and never have ordered again...

    New (abandoned) Warehouse

What a weekend! Plans included cleaning out the garage. Hey, there is a car parked in there. And as soon as I make another trip to the dump there can be a truck in there too. Now on to modeling. I have been working on a abandoned warehouse as a view block for an upper return track. I found...

    Future Texan. YEEEE HAW

Sam, Dibble's Hobbies in Donalson Village has been around for 50+ years. Since moving back to Texas I have visited several times when is SA. Being on the SP, MoPac, and Katy main lines for years and then all being aquired by the Ugly Pacific, SA has lots of train watching available. Especially...

    A First For Me

Last evening I did something that would have never been possible just a few years and two layouts ago. Since our move to Texas I have been working on a new layout and took the plunge for DCC. Last evening I ran four separate trains on two tracks simultaneously. I admit that it would have been...

    Mock-Up

The white building is a mock-up of what I am considering making from some of the DPM Modular Wall System parts I have. It will represent an abandoned industrial facility/warehouse. The area will appear worse for wear, left to the weeds and transients. Any suggestions, improvements? I realize...

    DPM Module Dilemma

Going through my containers of bits and pieces stored for nearly 10 years I dug up 21 packages of DPM module walls. Now the dilemma, what to do with them. Obviously I had a purpose for buying so many. What was I going to build for the old layout? What can I do with them on the new layout? Are...

    Doc's Weekend Progress

I pretty much finished both upper rear corners. Some details need adding, but that is always true. We are never really "finished" are we? There are a few photos of what was accomplished in Doc's Work in Progress in the gallery. Doc

    Atheran SD70 Mystery

I had a lash up on the ready track, probably a couple of months of non running. Last night I attempted to put them in service and on of the SD70's was dead. It would move when I pushed on the top of the shell with no power asigned to that engine? I reprogrammed it and the lights now work, and...

    Some Progress Photos

DPM buildings and pipes I am the first to agree that painting the DPM buildings is a giant pain. I airbrushed the individual pieces first. Colors vary. Depot Buff, some red (don't remember which) and a mix of trim colors. It is hard to remember since these are 10 year old projects, or older. In...

    cork and controller question

I used the Woodland Scenics roadbed for the layout I am working on. I like it much better than cork. It's easier to work IMHO and it holds track nails well. Also it is very quite and is very forgiving of little imperfections in track work. Doc
