Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part IV

Wow, that's a lot of water. Glad you're afloat, Don. On the way in to Chicago this morning, watched the last remnants of an old rail-served coal dock get razed. I like to ferret out rail-served industries and other old sidings along my commuter line. There's still a wealth of things out there -...

That sure is a neat project, John. Great idea, Brutus, I'll have some. Back from date night - dinner and visit to B&N to browse train mags (for me) and cookbooks (for my bride). Cheap date. Ozzy, take care. Glad you're on the move again, David. C'mon back north. It's only 2 here. :thumb:

Laz, I have a collection of 'em - I also save the sound chips and activation boards. Not sure what to use them for yet - I was thinking more of expanding the old MRC Sound box I have someday. It's the old one that came with just a speaker itself for which you made the speaker box.

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part IV

Morning all. Glad to see Ozzy and hope a fellow C&NW's surgery is going smoothly this morn. If possible, today is the coldest I've felt all week on the jaunt to work. Signals and MU cables frozen on the way in, so we were a tad late. Our stop did allow me to peruse a wonderous MoW train for...

Morning friends. Like Jon said, too cold here too. Hope we get the 40s mentioned. Watching a few five-year-olds whilst attempting to work at the same time. Happy for the work. John, it must be wonderful to run through those old photos - what have you seen? Just layout shots? I visited a link...

Morning all. Late night tonight with my class. Snow slowing and supposed to be sunny then colder. Don, all I can say is wow! What a collection - the shelves and transformer tables look great. Hope the Chief doesn't infect us all with his cold. No drinking from the coffee pot!

Morning everyone. Thanks for the beer, Brutus! I think I am the only one at work in Chicago today - tough walk from the station to the office with the wind and snow. :winter1:At least McDonalds had free coffee today. :java1: Great game last eve. Ended up skipping the end to sit with the...

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part IV

Good day all. 2 degrees here. I think I'm the only one who doesn't have the day off tomorrow. Long day here after serving as video director at church and picking up the daughter from camp - found her and her friend among 640 kids and all their gear. Now to check in with my online class, and...

Morning all. This sure is a nice place to be. Bit brisk here. Going to hobby store to try to find Scenic Accent glue for lanterns for Thomas and his pals. Thanks for the info on the Burro crane. Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part III

Morning all. Back from the eye surgeon - still good - he used a new toy to take some neat picture of the back of the eye. Can't wait for that bill. He wants me to go to eye doc for new glasses, because I'm not seeing as well out of it. I don't notice. John F - what evocative photos of the...

Rats, that means snow from Iowa on its way. Morning all. Supposed to get absolutely brutally cold this eve and deep into next week - highs in single digits - good basement weather I guess. Brutus, it's a real dilemma how to paint the inside of this Lemax building - has some 'glass' - I think...

Wow, this software is squirrely. Morning all. Lost my messages. Cold here, supposed to get even colder. Brutus, any ideas on how to paint the innards of the ceramic building with just the little lightbulb hole in the back? John F, those passenger cars are beauts! Chief, how was Commanche...

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part III

' Morning from a very cold Chicago where it is 19 but feels like 8 - a day when you can feel the cold through the bottom of your shoes. :-o Orlando or anyplace else sounds real good now - Ran the trains a bit last evening instead of watching TV. Placed the barber shop building I got on sale over...

Come on back to the caboose and get a cup of coffee [or sweet ice tea] Part III

A belated good morning from a very cold Chicago. Ozzy, that garage looks great! For shingles, I am always taking the 'cheap-o' route - I've tried both colored construction paper - for tar shingles - and cardstock - cut from cereal boxes. For the latter, I make strips the length of the roof...
