Just two words to this topic - Why not? :) I use resin wheels, transparent canopies, wires, cables scrapped where possible... I used the flexible drinking straws as hydraulic (or whatever) hoses here: If it helps the model, then it is no problem, IMO :)

shoki2000: Yes. Needed a bit of cutting and filing here and there (pity I did not take a photo when I started on them), but still look many times better than anything I could scratch from cardboard or wood. It surprised me how heavy the wheels are :)

I am watching this, too. I am curious how the pilots will work out, because there is no space for legs in the snowspeeder. You will see when you get there. Even in the original prop the pilots had their legs sticking out :) Enlarged to A1... Wow... That puts the scale roughly somewhere to 1:7...
